City Unveils Brand Initiative with Splash on Water Street

More than 450 people checked in at the "Brand Launch" welcome table Wednesday night, a splashy event meant to roll out the city's new "Dare to Begin" tagline. 

It also was an opportunity for the city and the Chamber of Commerce to reinforce the partnership that, going forward, aims to invigorate commerce and engage the community.

The two-hour event included food and drinks for all, donated by several local businesses, and was a platform to announce big changes coming to both the city and the Chamber websites. 

Nashua resident Michelle Hubert said the slogan resonates with her on more than a few levels.

"I work for Sunovion, a pharmaceutical company, and so my options are either Cambridge or Worcester. I'd love to see Nashua become an option for companies like mine," Hubert said. "It's a good slogan – for me, it's dare to begin a family, to change industries, to rely on other companies daring to begin here in Nashua."

Greater Nashua YMCA CEO Mike LaChance said he was excited to see so many people turn out for the event.

"It's really important that we have one common bond here, and a message that can be used in so many ways," LaChance said.

Even Emergency Management Director Justin Kates was feeling the slogan by the end of the launch.

"I just thought of a good one – Dare to Prepare," Kates said to Mayor Donnalee Lozeau, as the event wrapped up just after 8:30 p.m.

"That's a good one," Lozeau said. 

Earlier in the evening, Lozeau introduced several local leaders from the business community who weighed in on how the city's new brand inspires them
