A Crash And A Car Fire Close Two Lanes Of F.E. Everett Turnpike

Nashua Fire Rescue had a flurry of activity on the highway. One vehicle traveled over the embankment, and another burst into flames.

NASHUA, NH - Nashua Fire Rescue, AMR ambulance, and Nashua Police responded to a report of a single-vehicle over the embankment on the southbound side of F. E. Everett with a report of possible entrapment.

Crews arrived on the scene just south of Exit 4 at about 12:10 p.m. Saturday. Firefighters assisted a woman out of the vehicle, however, she was not trapped in the vehicle. The woman was transported by AMR Ambulance to a local hospital with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.

New Hampshire State Police arrived at the scene, closing the right two lanes of the highway while they investigated and the vehicle was removed.

A report of a vehicle on fire was reported shortly after the first incident was being cleared up. Nashua Fire Rescue, police and New Hampshire State Police responded to the F.E. Everett southbound at Exit 2.

When fire crews arrived they found a passenger car with the engine compartment on fire, and all occupants out of the vehicle. Firefighters forced the hood open and extinguished the fire that caused heavy damage to the car.

State police kept two lanes closed while crews worked to extinguish the fire, and remove it from the roadway. No one was injured in the incident.
