Crime Scene Unit Investigation in Crown Hill

Police have been on Ingalls Street since late this morning.

A crime scene van has been parked on Ingalls Street for about seven hours, along with police cruisers and a Nashua police dive team.

"We are conducting a police investigation at this time," said Lt. Michael Moushegian, who declined to elaborate.

Residents of Ingalls Street noticed the police cruisers and crime unit truck late this morning. A white tent was set up in the woods at the end of the street, which is near Salmon Brook.

"I saw first cop go by my house around 10:30ish and the next thing I knew, detectives started showing up and then the crime scene unit truck," said Lindsey McBrierty, who lives on Ingalls Street.

"The cops and detectives have been coming and going since this morning. They won't tell me anything. I told him my kids go in there all the time, but they said we're not in any danger," McBrierty said.

She said that other neighbors had mentioned that someone may have seen something suspicious in the area late last night, prompting police to come and investigate.

"That's just what I heard," she said.

As of 7:15 p.m. police remained on Ingalls Street, and were seen searching through the tree-lined edge of the woods, McBrierty said.

McBrierty said the area where police are investigating is not far from 37 Newbury Street, where the bodies of William and Eleanor Grant were discovered June 17, dead inside their home, of stab wounds. That crime has been ruled homicide by the NH Attorney General's office.

Moushegian would not comment on whether the police presence on Ingalls Street was related to that investigation.

No suspect has been named or arrested in the June 17 homicide, which remains under investigation by Nashua Police and the NH Attorney General's office.

According to McBrierty, police cleared the area just before 8 p.m. Sunday night.
