A free, public concert featuring Delta Blues artist, Doug Philbrook, will
take place on the grounds of The Huntington at Nashua, 55 Kent Lane, August 26, at 7 pm.
The entrance to the Huntington at Nashua is
located at 55 Kent Lane off of Spit Brook Road (Exit 1 off the Everett
Turnpike), across the street from Roby Park and next to the World
Academy. Seating will be provided, or you can bring your lawn chair.
Philbrook is getting back to his roots this evening with a solo
performance of classic standards by many of the original blues greats
including Robert Johnson, Charlie Patton, Blind Blake, Blind Boy Fuller
and many more. In addition to being a great blues vocalist and
guitarist, Philbrook is a self-taught blues historian, and tells the stories
of the early blues men and women in the intros to his songs.
