Haircut Raffle to Support Outward Bound for Veterans

Birch Heights assisted living in Derry
will sponsor a Haircut Raffle for the benefit of the Outward Bound
for Veterans program. Local Hair Salons and Barber Shops including
Demalias, Water’s Edge Salon & Spa, Salon Bogar, Ginette’s
Beauty Shop, Carlene’s Barber Shop, and Firefly Salon have
contributed haircut prizes for this worthwhile cause. Raffle tickets
will be $5 each.

Outward Bound for
Veterans helps soldiers re-acclimate to society through wilderness
courses that draw on the healing power of teamwork and challenge. 
From the canyons of Utah to the coast of Maine, expeditions take
place in some of the most spectacular natural environments in the
country these veterans have so bravely defended.

In 2011, over 300
Holiday Retirement communities throughout the country through
fundraising events and the generous donations of residents,
their families, fellow veterans, and communities members were able to
raise $1.2 million to send 600 deserving veterans through the Outward
Bound for Veterans program - and we are striving to do it again!
