Haircuts and Other Freebies for Vets on Veterans Day

When David Pothier was a Marine, he served this country well. Now that he's an accomplished barber, he would like to serve his fellow military veterans well. That's why Pothier, owner of Wilfred's Barber Shop, 93 W. Pearl St., is offering free haircuts to all veterans, male and female, on Nov. 10, the Marine Corps 238th birthday.

"They can come in and get cleaned up for the parade, or whatever else they're doing on Veterans Day," Pothier said.

• Nancy's Diner, 25 Canal St., offering free coffee and 10 percent off any meal for veterans on Veteran's Day, Nov. 11. 

• Veterans/Active Military: Show your ID at Ronnie's Country Kitchen, 200 Temple St., Nashua, for a 20 percent discount on Nov. 11. 

• Please Join Nashua Crossings on November 11th from 12-2 p.m. at the Nashua Senior Center for a FREE Chili Dog lunch to all Military Veterans. (Drinks, Chips, and Condiments will also be provided.) Non Veterans will be charged $4; children under 12 and seniors $2. (Come on over after the Annual Veteran's Day Parade)

• Milly's Tavern, 500 N. Commercial St., Manchester: Veterans Day Party, first beer on the house, $1 craft beers and half price apps all day with proof if service. 

• Carrabba's is offering all active duty personnel and retired veterans a free appetizer on Nov. 9-11, including the Bedford location. You will need proof of service such as military ID or dressing in your uniform. Check your nearby location to make sure they are participating.

• All Applebees (including 379 Amherst St. in Nashua) offer all Veterans and Active Duty Military a free signature entree on Veterans Day.

• All Common Man Restaurants invite Veterans to BUY ONE ENTRÉE, GET ONE FREE! Offer good Sunday, November 10 AND Monday, November 11 at any Common Man Family Restaurant. Must currently be in the armed forces and show a valid military I.D. or be a veteran who has served our country.Veterans, please remember that the Common Man Family offers you 25% off of your entrée any time you dine with us all year long.

• All Texas Roadhouse locations (including 580 Amherst St. in Nashua) are offering veterans a free lunch (and beverage) from a special menu on Nov. 11. Proof of military service required. • All Starbucks, including Nashua locations,  will provide a free tall brewed coffee for veterans, active duty military and their spouses in participating U.S. company-owned stores. We invite all of our customers to join us in sharing our heartfelt appreciation to those who serve. #thankavet 

• All UNOs - Free pizza or entree with purchase of pizza or entree of equal or greater value, with valid military ID. (See flyer above.)

• All Denny's, including the 34 Gusabel Ave. location in Nashua, will participate in a Denny’s Veterans Day Appreciation Event, Nov. 11, 2013. Free all you can eat pancakes from 6 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 11 for all active, retirees, and veterans with a valid military ID or proof of military service. Offer available in every Denny’s nationwide. 

• TGIFriday's NH locations will salute veterans and active duty military service members. As a small token of our appreciation, we invite you to have lunch on us this Veterans Day, Monday, November 11, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. 
  

• Chick-fil-A is celebrating Veterans Day by serving  military personnel and immediate family a free meal. Guests can choose from the Original Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich meal, nuggets or nuggets kid’s meal from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on November 11.
