How Cold Is It in Nashua?

Cold enough to get stuck in an icy car wash, apparently.

This one, a relatively routine police call on Saturday morning, will be filed under "How cold is it in Nashua?"

At about 7:45 a.m. on Jan. 25 Nashua Police Officer Peter Forgione got a call to report to the Camps Touch Free Car Wash at 487 Amherst St., for what came across the scanner as "an unusual call" – a motorist stuck inside her car.

Upon arrival Forgione found a woman who had driven into the automated car wash who was unable to exit because the water had frozen on the surface of the car was stall, and her tires were spinning.

Forgione threw down some rock salt and sand, and the motorist was on her way, according to police.

That's cold.

The National Weather Service recorded the temperature at that hour to be about 14 degrees Fahrenheit at Boire Field, with temperatures expected to climb to a balmy high of 34.
