Hudson Firefighters Offer CPR Training to Seniors
The training was held at the Buttercup Community Building.
Submitted by the Hudson Fire Department:
Hudson firefighters are provided lifesaving training for the residents of Buttercup Hill. The training was held at the Buttercup Community Building certifying 12 residents in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), including using an automated external defibrillator (AED). The firefighters are provided the training free of charge.
The CPR/AED training really serves a dual purpose. Cardiac death is one of the number one killers of people across the country. The residents are learning how to save themselves, but also, early CPR and treatment with and AED makes the chances of survival much greater.
When presented with the chance to help the Buttercup residents, the Hudson Fire Department didn’t think twice. Several of the department’s members are certified to teach CPR and immediately stepped up to instruct the course.
The firefighters are thrilled for the opportunity to expand upon the way they serve the town by giving back to the community in such a direct way, providing CPR skills to our citizens. The training is the fire departments mission making Hudson a Heart Safe Community. Volunteering our services to train those we serve day in and day out is a win-win for the community and the firefighters.
