Local Radio Host Will Live To Park Another Day

Parking tickets happen in the city.

WSMN on-air personality and host of Nashua This Morning, George Russell, spends a lot of time running from the broadcast booth inside Absolute Broadcasting, 141 Main St., to the High Street parking garage to feed the meter.
Sometimes he gets caught up in the moment during commercial breaks, setting up the next segment, dealing with a technological glitch, or simply forgetting that his limited meter time has lapsed.
Even with unlimited meters at the High Street garage, it's not always possible to know what time he will be done for the day, so he pays as he goes.
Lesson learned: Sometimes you get to the meter on time, and sometimes the meter gets you!
Over the years he's probably invested enough in the city's parking violation till to earn him a gold-plated parking meter with his name on it.
Russell takes it on the chin, and pays his dues, without complaint.
Anyway, today I offered to drop off Russell's $10 fine after my usual Tuesday morning appearance on 1590 AM (between 7-9 a.m.) and promised to document the money drop.
It was a fast and easy process, and I made good use of the free city business only 30-minute parking space.
This post goes out to Russell, and all of you who get beat by the meter reader - as a reminder to pay those fines before they double, and always park with care.
