The assault was reported to have occurred the previous night, and officers made contact with Akel on Wednesday afternoon at a residence in the area of East Dunstable Road.

Akel was being held on $20,000 cash or surety bail, pending arraignment May 22 in the 9th Circuit Court in Nashua.
