Man Charged with Gas Station Robbery at Knifepoint

James Rhodes also faces drug charges after police allegedly found crack cocaine on him during booking.

James Rhodes, 21, of Nashua, was arrested June 19, charged with robbery, a class A felony; possession of a narcotic drug, a class B felony; resisting detention, a class A misdemeanor; and resisting arrest, a class A misdemeanor.

Police on June 19, 2013 at approximately 1:40 a.m., were notified of a robbery that had just occurred at the All Town Gas Station, 43 East Hollis St.  

It was reported a suspect entered the gas station and demanded money from the clerk while brandishing a knife. The suspect then fled the scene after being provided an undisclosed amount of cash. Rhodes was later identified as a suspect.

During the initial contact with Rhodes he resisted officers who attempted to detain him.

Members on the Nashua Police Department’s Criminal Division furthered this incident and subsequently charged Rhodes with armed robbery. During the booking process, crack cocaine was located on Rhodes’ person and he was subsequently charged with possession of a narcotic drug.

A class A felony is punishable by up to 15 years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. A class B felony is punishable by up to seven years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. A Class A Misdemeanor is punishable by up to one year in jail, exclusive of fines. Rhodes was being held at the Nashua Police Department on $5,000 cash/surety bail and was scheduled to be arraigned in 9th Circuit Court, Nashua, District Division on June 19, 2013.
