Man Charged as Fugitive, Wanted by Lowell Police for Larceny

Joshua Brand of Chester gave police false information about his identity following his arrest.

oshua Brand, 21, of 26 Lilypad Street, Chester, was arrested by Nashua Police on Nov. 21 charged as a fugitive from justice; and unsworn falsification, a class A misdemeanor.

Patrol Officers came into contact with Brand during their response to a suspicious person call on Brook Village Road. Brand initially provided the name Kyle Brand and was arrested for possession of a narcotic drug for being in possession of prescription medication belonging to Joshua Brand. 

Brand continued to provide false information to police during booking procedures at the Nashua Police Department. There it was learned his name was actually Joshua Brand and that he was wanted by the Lowell Massachusetts Police Department for larceny. In addition to the warrant, Brand was charged With unsworn falsification. The charge of possession of narcotic drug was dropped due to the prescription medication being legally possessed by Brand.

Brand is currently being held at the Nashua Police Department pending his extradition to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He faces up to a year in jail, exclusive of fines for the Unsworn Falsification charge.
