Police involvement in the investigation began on the morning of January 14, 2024, when police and medical personnel went to an apartment in Keene in response to a 911 call reporting in substance that an infant was experiencing medical distress.

When police and medical personnel arrived, the infant, Luca Hudson, was unconscious and not breathing. Luca was taken to a hospital and remained hospitalized until his death on January 17, 2024.

An autopsy conducted by Deputy Chief Medical Examiner Mitchell L. Weinberg determined that Luca Hudson’s cause of death was a homicide, resulting from blunt head trauma.

As a result of the investigation into the circumstances of Luca Hudson’s death, an arrest warrant was obtained charging Annthoni Bliss (age 22) with one count of second-degree murder in violation of RSA 630:1-b, I(b). It is alleged that Annthoni Bliss caused the death of Luca Hudson recklessly under circumstances manifesting an extreme indifference to the value of human life, by subjecting Luca to abusive violence and not obtaining timely medical assistance for his injuries.

The defendant was arrested without incident this evening with the assistance of members of the United States Marshals Service. He is expected to be arraigned tomorrow at the Eighth Circuit Court, Keene District Division, at a time to be determined by the Court.

The charge and allegations against Annthoni Bliss are merely accusations, and he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
