
Philip Smith, 22, of 21 Crystal St, Haverhill, Mass was arrested Nov. 25 charged with domestic violence: second degree assault, a class B felony.
At about 3 p.m. on Nov. 25 a female known to Smith reported to the Nashua Police Department’s Domestic Violence Unit that she had been strangled by Smith earlier in the day. As a result of the investigation, Smith was charged with Domestic Violence: Second Degree Assault (Strangulation), Class B Felony, two counts of Domestic Violence: Simple Assault, Class A Misdemeanor, and one count Domestic Violence: Criminal Threatening, Class A Misdemeanor
Smith is being held at the Nashua Police Department pending his arraignment at the 9th-Circuit-District Division-Nashua Court on November 26, 2013. A Class B Felony is punishable by up to seven years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. A Class A Misdemeanor is punishable by up to one year in the County House of Corrections, exclusive of fines.
