Police Seek Hit-and-Run Driver in Nashua Man's Death

A 63-year-old Nashua man was found dead on the side of the road on West Hollis Street on Sunday night.
At 7:26 p.m. Sunday, members of the Nashua Police Department’s Uniform Division responded to the area of West Hollis Street at Pine Street for a report of an unresponsive male lying on the side of the road. The male was identified as Robert Derome, 63, no fixed address, Nashua. He was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
An autopsy performed at the Office of the Medical Examiner determined that Derome suffered severe injuries to his head and pelvis. It is believed that these injuries were caused by being struck by a motor vehicle. The operator of the motor vehicle did not stop after the accident and has not made himself or herself known to police.
Members of the Criminal Investigation Division are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding Derome’s death.
