Meet Neal Sullivan, Tree Decorator
Whenever Neal Sullivan finds an interesting castaway trinket, he uses it to add a little whimsy to the cityscape.

Neal Sullivan is not a tree hugger. He's more of a tree decorator, part hobby, part amusement.
For the past year he's been hanging stuff in a little tree growing near the Bank of America parking lot, next to Factory Street.
Maybe you've seen it.
Recent additions include a glow-in-the-dark rubber bat, a small ladder, a feather, some Mardi Gras beads, and black crepe paper.
Oh, and a tiny little ladder.
"One guy says it's a voodoo tree. He thinks it's scary, but it's not -- it's just me being bored," Sullivan says.
Whatever castaway trinkets he finds as he walks through town he adds to the tree whenever he cuts through the parking lot.
Think "Giving Tree," in reverse.
It doesn't bother him when the trinkets "disappear" because the universe sends him more stuff.
"There's always gonna be more stuff," Sullivan says, adjusting the cigarette butt he just added to the mouth of the glow-in-the-dark bat. "It's just for fun."
