Micro Inc. Highlights MicroSociety Academy in New Press Release

We're excited to share that our parent organization, MicroSociety Inc., recently published a press release that features MicroSociety Academy Charter School (MACS)! MACS was named a 4-STAR school for the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 school years, which is the highest honor. Also, many of MicroSociety Academy's teachers were recognized for their hard work.

"MicroSociety, Inc. Recognizes 2023-2025 4-STAR Schools for Excellence
Philadelphia, PA - September 10, 2025- MicroSociety Inc. proudly announced its new 4-STAR Schools during a celebratory Gala at the 2025 Annual MicroSociety Conference, held this year in Louisville, Kentucky. These schools represent the highest standard of fidelity and excellence in implementing the MicroSociety model, where students learn by doing, thinking, and problem-solving, running their own societies, and applying academic skills in real-world contexts.

What Makes a 4-STAR School?
The 4 STAR designation is MicroSociety's highest honor, awarded to schools that demonstrate exceptional performance across eight core areas of implementation:

1. Student-run Government
2. School-wide Economy
3. Teacher Facilitation and Student Agency
4. Mentors and Partnerships
5. Community and Culture
6. Integration of classroom curriculum with real life
7. Shared Leadership, Responsibility, and Decision Making
8. Professional Support

Each school completes a comprehensive self-assessment to evaluate the depth, authenticity, and impact of MicroSociety. Schools that receive the 4-STAR honor consistently empower students as leaders, entrepreneurs, and contributing citizens-integrating MicroSociety principles into every aspect of school life.

Because the 2024 International Conference was held in March - prior to the annual STAR assessment window - both the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 4 STAR Schools were celebrated together at this year's Gala at the historic Seelbach Hotel in Louisville.

• Penn Hills Charter School of Entrepreneurship - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

• Aspen Heights Elementary School - Red Deer, Alberta, Canada
• Chocachatti Elementary School - Spring Hill, Florida
• The Dufrocq School - East Baton Rouge, Louisiana
• Imagine Schools at South Vero - Vero Beach, Florida
• Jersey City Global Charter School - Jersey City, New Jersey
• MicroSociety Academy Charter School (MACS) – Nashua, New Hampshire
• Penn Hills Charter School of Entrepreneurship (PHCSE) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
• St. Mary's Catholic School - Sexsmith, Alberta, Canada

Six standout schools - Chocachatti, Imagine South Vero, Jersey City Global Charter, MACS, and PHCSE - earned the 4-STAR distinction for both school years, demonstrating sustained excellence and deep commitment to student-led learning.
