Midfield Café Temporarily Closed Following Kitchen Fire
Cafe at Boire Field should be reopening early next week.

As seen on Facebook:
Midfield Café is closed for repairs to the kitchen following a weekend kitchen fire. Although damage was minimal, the stove needs to be replaced.
The rest of the story, as posted on the Midfield Café website by owner Sandy Adams:
"While I was away at my Uncle's funeral this past weekend there was a small kitchen fire. ( Monday afternoon.) The kids were doing a great job keeping things together but at the end of the day they pick everything up off the floors to mop. Somebody put a trash can too close to a heat source but they didn't notice. They left for the day. The trash can melted and seeped onto the burner and caught fire. Billy Psaladakus noticed smoke from outside and Dennis and Peter V broke the window and put the fire out before the kitchen fire suppression system even went off. However ... everything is covered in soot and the stove needs to be replaced as well as ceiling tiles, insulation etc. All food and paper product have to be replaced. I am thrilled by the compliments I have received from clean up crews that my kitchen was very clean. If it had been greasy the fire would have caused much more damage. So ... nagging the kids about keeping it clean pays off and they do a great job. Lenny has stepped right in and is getting everything taken care of and I have been able to stay with my granddaughter as I had planned for my vacation."
