According to the gallery, Hubley's recent work — including paintings featured in the exhibition —is inspired by her walks in the woods. The work is described as rich in color, texture, intricated detail and attention to scale.
"The vibrancy of (Hubley's) work suggests that the artist never seems to tire of the forest because— much like the seashore — it is never the same twice. Weather conditions alter its physical character, constantly providing new and even surprising things to contemplate and interpret," said Sister Theresa Couture, the director of the Art Gallery at Rivier University.

Couture continued: "(Hubley's) prints and paintings reveal a sensitivity to poetic ambiguity, mindful shifts of vantage points, and the transforming effects of discovery."
Hubley has long been a prominent member of the local arts community in Nashua. She has been an instructor at Rivier University, served as the president of the Nashua Art Association, is a founding member of the Women's Caucus for Art — New Hampshire Chapter and currently offers mentoring sessions for individuals and small groups at her private studio.
Hubley also has taught at colleges in Maryland and Michigan and at other schools in New Hampshire.
In addition to Hubley's paintings, the exhibition will be accompanied by music for piano composed, performed and recorded by Peri Strongwater. According to organizers, the music was written in response to the works on show.
The Art Gallery at Rivier University is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday.
