Nashua Community To Dedicate New Mural Tuesday

Positive Street Art and the Rotary Club of Nashua West are unveiling their new mural Tuesday afternoon.

NASHUA, NH — A vibrant new mural on the corner of Bowers and Main Streets is being unveiled tomorrow, an art-focused Nashua organization said.

The Rotary Club of Nashua West commissioned Positive Street Art to create an inspiring mural representing the club's six pillars of focus: Peace & Conflict Prevention, Disease Prevention & Treatment, Water & Sanitation, Maternal & Child Health, Basic Education & Literacy and Economic & Community Development. The mural celebrates the club's 50th anniversary.

In total, artist Manuel "Phelany" Ramirez spent roughly 200 hours over 6-8 weeks to complete the mural, he told Patch. And he wasn't alone — volunteers Janet Valuk, Carolyn Oguda, Carol Powis, Bob Powis, Christian Ramirez and Cecilia Ulibarri each had a hand in the project as well.
