Nashua Fire On Mulberry Street: Firefighter Hospitalized

Nashua firefighters said a fire broke out at a boarded-up Mulberry Street building.

NASHUA, NH — A fire broke out in Nashua at a boarded-up Mulberry Street building Monday morning and one firefighter was hospitalized, fire officials said. The fire broke out at about 2:15 a.m. A Nashua police officer on patrol noticed the fire and called for help, according to Nashua Deputy Fire Chief Kevin Kerrigan.

"Access was difficult and delayed crews from getting to the fire quickly as all the windows and doors were boarded up," Kerrigan said in a statement.

The fire started on the first floor of the brick building and spread to the second floor. Firefighters used saw to cut heavy timber floors to extinguish the blaze, Kerrigan said.
