Nashua Fire Responds To Fire In Nashua Homeless Camp That Injures Man

A man suffering from burns to his leg was located near a small homeless camp on Lock Street along the railroad tracks and power lines.

NASHUA, NH — Nashua Fire Rescue, police, and AMR ambulance responded to the area along the railroad tracks and power lines near the end of Lock Street for a report of a small fire with a burn victim Tuesday.

Responders arrived just before 6 p.m. and found a fire in a small homeless encampment with a man who was suffering from burns to his leg. Due to the poor access to the victim's location, additional apparatus was requested to assist in extricating the victim to the street. Once the victim was removed from the street, he was loaded into the ambulance and transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening injuries.

An investigator from the Nashua Fire Marshal’s Office was requested to investigate the incident and speak to the victim at the hospital.
