Update: Nashua North Placed In Lockdown After Ammo Found In Bathroom

Update: A single round of ammunition was found in a bathroom at the school on Monday morning.

NASHUA, NH — Nashua High School North was placed in lockdown, according to police, after an ammunition round was found in a bathroom at the school.

Around 9:30 a.m., the department posted a note on X-Twitter reporting “an active investigation” at the school and officers were “on scene.” More information was expected to be released “as it becomes available.”

Later, the department said there were no injuries at the scene.

“There were no threats or messages made in conjunction with the found ammunition,” police said around 11 a.m. “ Out of an abundance of caution and policy, the school department placed the school in lockdown.”

Mario Andrade, the superintendent of Nashua schools, said the shool was placed in lockdown around 8:45 a.m. after a single bullet was found in one of the school bathrooms.

Police are still at the scene as of 11:15 a.m. No students or staff were injured. Police said the school would be releasing students around 11:30 a.m.

“We understand and respect that events like this can cause concern and many questions,” Andrade said. “We want to assure you that our students remain safe and supported. We appreciate the level of trust that is required in sending your children into our care and we want you to know that as educators and parents ourselves, we take that responsibility very seriously.”
