CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Department of Education (NHED) is pleased to announce that two New Hampshire students have been chosen as delegates to the National Youth Science Camp in West Virginia.

The two students are:

  • Camille Branch, a junior at Making Community Connections Charter School in Keene
  • Dylan Jiang, a junior at Nashua High School South in Nashua

Delegates to the National Youth Science Camp represent the highest levels of academic achievement in science and mathematics. The residential science education program honors and challenges high school science students to explore new areas in biological and physical science, art, and music.

“Congratulations to Camille and Dylan on this tremendous leadership opportunity,” Gov. Kelly Ayotte said. “I’m proud of their passion for STEM and desire to grow in this field, which is vital to the future of our state and our nation. These outstanding students will not only expand their understanding of science education, but also push their academic boundaries to new heights.”

Each year, the governor of West Virginia invites every state governor to initiate a process to select two delegates to attend camp, which is held from July 10 to Aug. 2 in the Monongahela National Forest in West Virginia.

“We are thrilled to have two exceptional New Hampshire students join other innovative youth from across the country for three weeks of immersive learning in science, technology, engineering, and math, Frank Edelblut, the commissioner of the education department,” said. “This incredible opportunity will introduce them to diverse career paths and help shape their future success.”
