On January 25, 2022, the Board of Alderman approved ordinance O-22-003 which extends the current mask requirement (O-21-083). The Board of Alderman voted 10 to 5, in favor of Ordinance O-22-003 as proposed by the Nashua Board of Health. This order applies to all individuals over the age of 2, regardless of vaccination status and is effective immediately through February 28, 2022.
During the month of January, Nashua continued to experience a significant increase in COVID-19 cases, which in turn put tremendous strain on the area hospital emergency rooms and facility capacity. With continued cold temperatures and winter weather, individuals continue to engage in indoor activities that increase crowding in indoor public settings for gatherings, traveling, shopping and other venues and make spread of the COVID-19 virus more likely. The recommendation to extend the mask ordinance was made based on substantial community transmission that the City of Nashua continues to experience.

Employees of all businesses shall wear a face covering over their mouth and nose when interacting with the public and whenever they are within six feet of a co-worker or a customer. Members of the public entering any business, including without limitation any outdoor area where business of any sort is conducted, work site, or government building must wear a face covering over their nose and mouth.
The order also includes that all businesses open to the public, including restaurants, retail stores, service providers, and places of amusement and recreation, and residential and commercial buildings of greater than two (2) units shall post at each public entrance a notice stating "FACE COVERINGS REQUIRED."
