Nashua Mom Showed Patience, Grace As Son Learned Tough Life Lessons

NASHUA, NH — Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

What makes your Mom extra special?

My mom has single-handedly raised me and my other 3 siblings. All by herself, she has figured out how to help us become genuinely good people, she raised us to help others and never judge anyone because you don’t know their circumstances. Even after all the mistakes I made growing up my mom never, ever gave up on me. Many people told her to because of the dumb choices I was making; like any young teenager I thought I knew everything, learned things the hard way. My mom never once judged me for my mistakes, she counseled me and just stayed by my side while I continued to learn and better myself. Unfortunately, I haven’t finished but I need a couple more credits to receive my associate's in criminal justice. I made honor society and dean's list while at NHTI community college. I’ve been working at T-mobile as of recent but without my mom's support I don’t know where I would be, especially with how bad I messed up. A lot of parents would’ve kicked their kids out, but my mom never did. She raised my twin sisters and little brother, as well, who are pure angels. My sister works at day care with kids; they’ve overcome a lot, as well, with my mom by their side. My little brother is an honor student in 6th grade at Fairgrounds Elementary. Without my mom, I don’t know where we would be.

Why do you feel your Mom deserves the spotlight?

Nobody has ever given her any recognition for the things she’s done. She’s helped out so many people who have done her wrong, and she’s never held any ill feelings for them. She still wishes them well and will always be that pure-hearted. She deserves all the recognition in the world for everything she’s done for us and other people around her.
