Nashua Offering Free Testing For HIV Testing Day

On Friday, June 25 and Sunday, June 27, Nashua will offer HIV testing to the community, free of charge regardless of insurance status.

NASHUA, NH — The Nashua Division of Public Health and Community Services is offering free HIV testing at three locations this weekend to recognize National HIV Testing Day on Sunday, June 27.

Testing will be offered for free, regardless of insurance status, at these locations:

  • Nashua Public Library — June 25, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Addiction Recovery Coalition of NH, 180 Elm Street in Milford — June 27, 10 a.m. to noon
  • City of Nashua DPHCS, 18 Mulberry Street — June 27, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Everyone receiving HIV testing will be given a $10 gift card, while supplies last.

HIV can affect anyone, and, if left untreated, can lead to Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome, known broadly as AIDS. Hillsborough County has the second highest number of HIV cases in New Hampshire, according to the DPHCS.

"The only way to know for sure if you have HIV is to get tested," Sascha Potzka, a public health nurse with DPHCS said.
