Nashua Police, Fire And AMR Respond To Report Of Two Men Shot

A trauma alert was activated at Southern NH Medical Center to prepare for victims with gunshot wounds on Friday.

NASHUA, NH — Nashua Police, Fire, and two AMR Ambulances responded to Chestnut Street near Central for a report of two people with gunshot wounds on Friday.

Nashua police arrived and began to treat two victims at about 9:45 p.m. who were on the sidewalk near a pickup truck with open doors. When Nashua Fire Rescue and AMR arrived, they took over the medical treatment while officers cordoned off the scene with crime scene tape.

Nashua Fire requested dispatch contact Southern NH Medical Center and activate the trauma team for two people with apparent gunshots wounds. The victims were then loaded into ambulances with firefighters assisting in the back of the ambulances and transported to the hospital.

The medical status of the victims is unknown at this time. Initial dispatch communication to the responding units was that one person was in and out of consciousness and the status of the second was unknown.

Nashua police have Chestnut Street blocked off and a large area is now taped off as officers appear to be searching the area for evidence using flashlights.

A witness said that there appeared to be an altercation of some sort with the two men that were near the truck and that at least one of them appeared to come out of the truck.
