Nashua Police Identify Man Who Drowned In The Nashua River
Sean Alkire, 28, jumped into the river and never resurfaced after walking away from police who had responded to a reported domestic call.
NASHUA, NH - Nashua Police have released the name of the 28-year-old man who ran from police and drowned in the Nashua River after jumping in to elude police Friday.
Police say they were called for a verbal domestic between a man and woman in the area of Canal Street. When officers located the couple, the woman approached police to speak with them, but the man started walking down the embankment toward the river.
Police and other witnesses saw the man, identified as Sean Alkire, jump into the water. He quickly went underwater and did not resurface. Nashua Fire Rescue, AMR ambulance, and the Nashua Fire Dive Team responded to the scene and immediately began to search for him.

Firefighters located Alkire, pulled him into the boat, and brought him to personnel waiting on the embankment prepared to pull the victim up a steep embankment. CPR was started in the boat and continued as he was brought up the embankment to the waiting ambulance.
He was rushed to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

Nashua Police Public Information Officer Sgt. John Cinelli said Alkire had been staying in the Nashua area but had no fixed address.
Stockbridge Funeral Home in Brentwood, in an online obituary, asked that donations be made to Safe Project.
