“Alyssa came with not only all of the qualifications we were looking for to lead this organization, but the most passion for the role and the downtown area that we had seen in some time.”

GAD’s mission is to revitalize downtown Nashua by increasing foot traffic, supporting local businesses, and organizing signature community events. The organization hosts several events, drawing massive crowds in support of that goal. Many will be familiar with the award-winning Nashua Farmers Market, Taste of Downtown, and the Holiday Stroll, which are funded and organized by GAD.

“I accepted this role because I believe in downtown Nashua’s potential and the powerful things we can create together,” said O’Mara. “Looking ahead, our focus will be on stabilizing internal operations, expanding inclusive programming, and creating space for community voices to shape the future of our work.”

In collaboration with the city of Nashua, GAD is finalizing plans for the 2025 Nashua Farmers Market. Nashuans can also look forward to the return of popular city events, which are supported by GAD, such as the Summer Stroll, PRIDE, and other events that have become cherished local traditions.

Thanks to the efforts of Liz Hannum, director of Economic Development for the city of Nashua, GAD’s website will soon feature a categorized, interactive map of downtown businesses, an updated events calendar, and additional tools to engage residents and visitors alike.

Vendors interested in participating in the Farmers Market can send a message via GAD’s Facebook page. More information can be found at downtownnashua.org.
