Nashua Police Officer Shoots Man On Ledge Street
A Nashua police officer shot Justin Contreras on Ledge Street during a welfare check, authorities said.

NASHUA, NH — A Nashua police officer shot a man during a welfare check on Ledge Street Tuesday night, authorities said. The man who was shot — 29-year-old Justin Contreras — was seriously injured and medflighted to a local hospital.
New Hampshire Attorney General Gordon MacDonald said three officers were called to a Ledge Street residence at about 10 p.m. for a welfare check. Officers encountered Contreras and a confrontation ensued, during which MacDonald said one of the officers shot Contreras. The names of the officer and further details about the incident were withheld.
