Nashua Teen Accused Of Sending ‘Concerning’ Audio Message That Put A Woman ‘In Fear For Her Life’
Matthew Mellen was arrested on a felony charge this week, accused of sending a threatening Facebook audio IM, and held without bail.

NASHUA, NH — A teen with no fixed address in Nashua was arrested on a felony charge, accused of threatening a woman on Sept. 16.
Police responded to a report of a domestic incident on Tuesday by a woman who stated she received “a concerning audio message” from Matthew Mellen, 18, via Facebook, according to Sgt. John Cinelli, the public information officer and communications division supervisor for the Nashua Police Department.

“The victim said she was in fear for her life based on the message she received,” he said.
The department’s Special Investigations Division-Domestic Violence Unit was assigned to investigate the incident and later took out a warrant against Mellen for a single felony count of criminal threatening-domestic violence-deadly weapon. He was arrested later that day, processed, and held without bail. Mellen was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on Sept. 17.
