Nashua Teen Surrenders After Stabbing Over Sneakers: Police
Dequan Hagen was accused of stabbing a 17-year-old in Tyngsborough during a sneaker deal.

TYNGSBOROUGH, MA — A Nashua teenager accused of stabbing another teen over a sneaker deal turned himself in Friday, according to police. Dequan Hagen, 19, was wanted on a host of charges in connection with a stabbing Thursday in Tyngsborough, Mass. He was held in custody pending an arraignment Monday in Lowell District Court.
Tyngsborough Police Chief Richard Howe said Hagen drove to a Frost Road residence and met a 17-year-old to potentially buy sneakers after the connected online. Instead, Hagen stole the sneakers and stabbed the teen in the stomach, according to Howe. The teen was seriously injured but expected to survive. He was medflighted to a Boston-area hospital.
Hagen was charged with armed robbery, home invasion, two count of assault and property destruction over $1,200.

Howe said the police department is designated as a meetup spot for online transactions and encouraged residents to take advantage of the safe location. Many police departments in the region also have such designations.
