One Day Only: Annual Nashua Garden Club Plant Sale, Sat. May 17th
Get Great Plants at Great Prices
It’s spring in New Hampshire and members of the Nashua Garden Club have been hard at work preparing for the club’s annual Plant Sale. Mark your calendar for this event on Saturday, May 17th, to get great plants at great prices and to gather new ideas for your gardens. The sale will begin promptly at 8 AM and will run through noon on the grounds of the Nashua Historical Society, 5 Abbott Street Nashua NH. It will take place rain or shine. Please note that only cash and checks will be accepted.
This sale is a great opportunity to expand your garden with healthy, local plants. Many have been attentively raised and nurtured by members of the Garden Club so you know that these plants are well suited to our New Hampshire growing conditions. The club recommends that shoppers arrive early to score the widest choice of annuals, perennials, houseplants, vegetables, and herbs. The club’s accomplished gardeners, including several knowledgeable Master Gardeners, will be on hand to answer any questions and to help you pick the best plants for your sun, shade and mixed spaces.
Note that the fun doesn’t stop there! Attendees can try their luck with the very popular ‘Gift Basket Raffle’ and try to win one of a wide variety of creative, themed gift baskets. Bargain hunters will want to visit ‘Jean’s Gems’ garden-themed tag sale to conduct their own treasure hunt for a fun selection of pots, lawn ornaments, books and other gardening tools and supplies.

The garden club is proud to have partnered with the Nashua Historical Society for many years as the society lends its spectacular grounds as the venue for this event. They too have been busy this winter updating the Historical Society Gift Shop. Please stop by for a look and to view Life Magazines from the 1960’s and 70’s which are for sale. While there, check out the society’s scavenger hunt that will take place that day.
This Plant Sale is the only fundraiser held by the Nashua Garden Club each spring. The funds raised go toward community educational and beautification projects including maintenance of Greeley Park’s Sensory Garden and the garden at the Humane Society for Greater Nashua. Additionally, the club extends invitations to members of the Nashua community to attend monthly club meetings and hear expert speakers, free of charge. And finally, the club’s annual holiday donations, provided to several local charitable organizations, are also financed by proceeds from this event.
