Prowler Nabbed After Police Traced Stolen GPS Back to Owner
Police remind the public to lock their parked cars and remove valuables.

Amy Wheeler-Teas said she was surprised when police knocked on her door at 2:15 a.m. Even more so when they handed her the Garmin GPS system that was supposed to be in her car.
It had been recovered by police following an arrest of a man who had been seen rooting around in a neighbor's car early Thursday morning.
"The officer said the Garmin was retrieved from someone with a backpack who was arrested. They tracked it back to us," said Wheeler-Teas.
According to Nashua Police Sgt. Brian Kenney, a call came in just before 2 a.m. Nov. 21 from a resident of Ayer Street, between Concord and Manchester streets, located in Nashua's north end, who said she looked out to see a strange man inside her car.
Benjamin Sherman, 23, of Nashua, was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property and attempt to commit theft from a motor vehicle. Kenney said the report on the incident is not yet complete, and did not know whether charges would be added.
Wheeler-Teas said it turned out items had also been taken from her husband's vehicle.
"The police officer who spoke with my husband said they estimate a dozen cars were broken into overnight," Wheeler-Teas said.
Kenney said it's not an uncommon occurrence in the city, and that residents should be reminded to lock their vehicles and remove valuables.
"It's not always a smash-and-grab situation. Individuals will walk around or drive around looking for whatever they can find inside a car," Kenney said.
