NASHUA, NH —When the Rivier University women's soccer team begins its season against Eastern Nazarene on Sept. 1, the Raiders will do so with a new, albeit familiar, head coach in charge.

Last week, Rivier announced that former head coach Brooke Arment had stepped down after four seasons in order to focus on her growing family.

In her place, former assistant David Richard has stepped in as head coach on an interim basis. The athletic department said Richard will be in charge until a permanent replacement can be found.

Richard has been an assistant with the Raiders since 2018-19, and his duties have included working with goalkeepers, recruiting, running training sessions and various game-day responsibilities.

"My passion and enthusiasm for the game is contagious, and I look forward to continuing working with the student-athletes," Richard said. "I am honored to be asked to be the interim head coach of the Rivier's women's soccer team for the 2022-23 season."
