Get Bold: Go Bald for Abby and Battle Childhood Cancer

More than five people will be shaving their heads May 17 at Wilfred's Barber Shop to help raise money to battle childhood cancer.

There's a great benefit this Saturday at Wilfred's Barber Shop as part of the St. Baldrick's Foundation. Here's a submission on what's going on and how one can contribute:
____________

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a volunteer-driven charity dedicated to raising money for childhood cancer research, will host one of its signature head-shaving events at Wilfred’s Barber Shop in West Pearl Street in downtown Nashua on May 17, where more than five will shave their heads in solidarity with kids with cancer and raise money to Conquer Childhood Cancers!

Why all the shaved heads? Worldwide a child is diagnosed with cancer every three minutes, and one in five children diagnosed in the U.S. will not survive. With only 4 percent of all federal cancer research funding dedicated to pediatric cancer research, St. Baldrick’s Foundation volunteers, supporters and donors are needed to continue the battle against this devastating disease.

The event is being held in honor of Abigail, a 4 year old girl who is battling Wilms’ Tumor, which is a form of kidney cancer. She is the niece of the event organizer and is currently in treatment for her cancer in North Carolina where she lives with her family.

There will be a gift card raffle from local restaurants, photography session, and Usborne books.
