Standoff Reported In Nashua; Man Wanted On Warrant

Nashua and other law enforcement agencies have SWAT, police on Grand Avenue; shelter-in-place issued for area streets.

NASHUA, NH — Nashua police have blocked off Grand Avenue and area side streets as part of a standoff with a man who has an active warrant, according to police.

Around 1:30 p.m., police were sent to the home, and quickly, the incident escalated into a standoff, with one man barricading himself and a woman and child in the home. The woman and child left the home safely later.

Two Bearcats, along with SWAT, have been at the scene since that time. A shelter-in-place was requested for Ledge Street from First to Eighth, according to a police note on X (Twitter).

“There is a large police presence in the area, the residents in the area should shelter in place,” the post said. “All other traffic, please avoid the area.”

Sgt. John Cinelli, the public information officer and communications division supervisor for the Nashua Police Department, confirmed police have an active warrant for the man.

There were reports of three shots that sounded like less-than-lethal weapons being fired inside the home. There were also drones seen circling the area.
