Two Different Nashua Accidents Leave 12-Year-Old Boy And A Man Injured
A boy riding a bike struck the side of a car and was flown to Boston with serious injuries.; a pickup struck a pole, injuring the driver.
NASHUA, NH — Nashua police are investigating two unrelated accidents that happened Monday — including one that left a 12-year-old boy seriously injured.
Nashua Fire, AMR, and police responded to a report of a child riding a bicycle that collided with the side of a vehicle at the intersection of East Dunstable Road and Harris Avenue.
A New Hampshire State Trooper, who was, immediately at the scene began medical treatment on the boy, who was seriously injured and initially unconscious. A request was made to check for the availability of a medical helicopter.

Firefighters and medics arrived at about 3:30 p.m. treated the boy at the scene and transported him to Southern New Hampshire Medical. A medical helicopter landed at the hospital and the child was brought to the landing area and immediately flown to a Boston hospital.
Nashua Police Sgt. John Cinelli said the child while riding a bicycle struck the side of a vehicle based on the initial investigation. The child was seriously injured according to police, who said, at this time, the child is expected to survive. According to radio broadcasts, the child was conscious while being transported to the hospital, and it appears he was not wearing a helmet.

A second accident was reported at Main Street near Fowell Avenue involving a pickup truck that struck a utility pole at about 5:35 p.m.
When responders arrived, a man driving the truck was injured and treated by Nashua firefighters and AMR personnel. While crews treated the man, a firefighter used a hydraulic tool to gain access to the battery and disconnect it. The pickup truck was traveling North on Main Street and left the roadway, taking down a street sign, and striking and splitting the pole. The utility lines remained intact and there were no power outages in the area.
The driver was transported to Southern NH Medical Center with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
Nashua Police are handling the investigations of both accidents.
