Two Seriously Injured in Crash on Everett Turnpike
State Police will be increasing their presence in anticipation of heavy Thanksgiving week traffic.

On Friday, November 22, 2013, at about 9:43 pm, Troopers from State Police Troop B in Bedford responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on the F.E.Everett Turnpike in Nashua. They located the collision in the northbound lane, between Exits 1 and 2. The accident consisted of two vehicles, each occupied by a single operator. Both operators suffered injuries and were transported to area hospitals.
Preliminary investigation indicated that a 2004 Honda, driven by Carol Maffetione, 63, of Manchester was traveling northbound when it drifted right, through the breakdown lane and struck a guardrail in head-on fashion. The vehicle rested perpendicular in the roadway, across the right travel lane and breakdown lane.
A second vehicle, a 1995 Ford, driven by Albert Champagne, 62, of Portsmouth, approached the Honda but did not see it in the roadway and struck it, as well as the guardrail. The Honda was thrown further into the roadway while the Ford rested facing into traffic.
