In Memory of William and Eleanor Grant, Homicide Victims

NASHUA, NH - William Paul Grant “Billy” 83, and Eleanor May (Smith) Grant “Elly” 78, both of Nashua were taken away unexpectedly on Sunday June 16, 2013 at their home in Nashua on Newberry Street where they had lived since October 1973.

Billy was born May 28, 1930 in Amherst, NH.  Billy was the son of the late Edward and Gladys Grant. Also predeceased by his sister “Tiny” (Marion) Knights and brother Donald Grant.  Survived by his sister, Shirley Grant-Nason of Hudson, NH.  He was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War serving from 1951-1955, achieving the rank of Petty Officer 1st class. He was awarded The Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. He served on many ships, but his favorite was the USS Willis A. Lee, he was a plank owner.  He was the owner of  “Siding by BG” for many years.  Billy was a very devoted husband, Daddy, brother, son-in-law, brother-in-law, Grampa, Superman and Fatso.  He was the go-to-man.

Elly was born March 23, 1935 in Milford, NH.  Elly was the daughter of the late Andrew and Gladys Smith.  Also predeceased by her brothers Andrew Smith Jr. and Donald Smith.  Survived by sisters Dorothy Welch, Norma O’Loughlin and brother Richard Smith of Nashua, NH, also sisters Barbara Solek, Carol Reck and husband Ronald, of CT.  She was a homemaker her whole life and loved having her family around.  She was a devoted wife, Mom, Ma, Gram, Aunie, Grammie and GG.

Bill and “LE” got married May 3, 1952.  They just celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary this past May.  They are predeceased by their daughter Susan Lynn (Grant) Piecuch.  They are survived by daughter Carol Ann (Grant) Hilt, of Nashua, NH.  They are also survived by their grandson Brandon Piecuch , wife Kristen and daughter Avery of NH; grandson

Christopher Piecuch daughter Cassidy and son Jonathan of ME; grandson Dustin Hilt wife Melissa of KS; granddaughter Kate-Lynn Ann (Hilt) Comeau husband Edgar and son Jakob and daughter Keagan of NH; grandson Cody William Hilt and daughter Adriana of KS; and a special niece Donna (Biathrow) Lavoie  husband Edgar “Bizz” and son Nathan Church wife Brenda, sons Troy and Ryan, all of NH, daughter Amy (Lavoie) Carlos and husband George of CA, son Brad “BJ” Lavoie  wife Amy of UT.  They are also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family member. They are also survived by their loving and faithful dog Lilly.
