
Seven individuals filed for local town office on the first day of the candidate filing period on Wednesday, including three individuals who will contribute to a spirited Salem Board of Selectmen race.
Incumbent Selectmen Stephen Campbell and Mike Lyons filed for reelection to three-year terms, while challenger Michael Petrilli Sr. also submitted paperwork for one of the two available positions.
Salem Town Clerk Susan Wall said four other incumbents also filed for candidacy on Wednesday: herself, Tax Collector Cheryl-Ann Bolouk, Town Moderator Christopher Goodnow, and Salem Zoning Board member Robert Utley.
The names of the Salem School District candidates who filed for office Wednesday wasn't immediately available.
The following is a list of the positions up for grabs at the March 11 elections, according to Wall:

For Moderator – TWO Years - Vote for ONE

For Supervisor of the Checklist – SIX Years – Vote for ONE

Incumbent: Bernard H. Campbell
Candidates have until 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 31 to apply for positions, and candidates should do so at either Salem Town Hall or at the superintendent of schools' office, depending on whether candidates are running for town or school office.
The polls will be open on March 11 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at four polling places.
