Heroin ODs Down Since Police Crackdown
Police believe the bad batch of the drug may have passed.
Heroin overdoses have declined in Salem in the wake of recent raids by area police, according to The Eagle-Tribune.
Salem Deputy Police Chief Shawn Patten told the newspaper that there have been six overdoses in Salem since a woman died of a heroin overdose on Feb. 13. But only one of those was heroin related. He said the increased police efforts are likely one reason, but said it also may be that the "bad batch" of fentanyl-laced heroin has finally passed.
