Massachusetts Woman Accused Of Drunken Driving After Fleeing Troopers, Crashing On I-93

Genesis Quezada of Haverhill, MA, was accused of leaving a traffic stop in Windham on Sunday; crashing into a guardrail in Manchester.

WINDHAM, NH — A woman from Massachusetts will be in district court in mid-May after being accused of drunken driving, fleeing a traffic stop by New Hampshire State Police, and crashing her car in Manchester.

Around 3:30 a.m., a Troop B state trooper in Windham stopped a 2018 Honda Accord for speeding and committing multiple lane control violations on Interstate 93. According to Amber Lagace, a public information officer, the trooper approached the passenger side of the car and the driver, Genesis Quezada, 24, of Haverhill, MA, placed the car back into drive and drove off.

“(The) trooper returned to his cruiser and proceeded after the fleeing operator who was also believed to be impaired,” she said. “The operator continued fleeing despite troopers following with their emergency lights and sirens activated.”

Lagace said Quezada lost control of her car around Exit 8 in Manchester and struck a guardrail. After that, she “continued in her attempt to flee — but the vehicle was disabled due to the damage sustained.”

Quezada was arrested on aggravated driving while intoxicated, reckless conduct, disobeying an officer, operating after suspension, and reckless operation charges, as well as multiple counts related to failing to maintain proper lane control and unsafe lane change violations. She was taken to the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, where she was cleared by medical staff and found to have no serious injuries, Lagace said. Quezada was processed and held in the Rockingham County Jail on $2,000 cash bail due to two warrants issued out of Salem District Court warrants.
