Salem Store Sells 1,500 Snowblowers in 22 Days

Due to the snowblower frenzy, a full deposit is now required to reserve a snowblower.

Bad weather has translated to good business for some New Hampshire store owners, particularly those who sell get-it-done-quick snow removal tools.

One Salem store has sold 1,500 snowblowers in the last 22 days, according to WMUR. In fact, snowblower mania has gotten so strong at Turf Depot that the store has issued its very own Special Weather Advisory.

“Due to the High Volume of Snow blower sales. It is best to call the stores for a up-to-date Inventory. Many models are sold out for the year. The website is pretty accurate, but it is best to call. A Full Down Payment is required to hold a unit. Call your local store for more details on inventory.”

The store owners, whose family have owned Turf Depot for the last 80 years, told WMUR that they’ve never seen anything like it. It seems this year’s brutal winter has pushed loyal shovel owners to find a quicker way to get rid the snow that continues to pile up in their driveways.

“They’re cold, they’re sore, they’re sick of it,” Turf Depot employee Steve Herbert said to WMUR. “And what was and expensive, maybe out of reach purchase is something that’s a little bit more doable.”
