Civilians Recognized with Awards for Saving Windham Woman

The Londonderry Police Department held its annual awards ceremony on Monday night.

The Londonderry Police Department held its annual awards night on Monday, recognizing officers for acts well done.

During the ceremony, six bystanders were honored for their help in saving a Windham woman who crashed her car into a river on April 18. The incident took place on Gilcreast Road in Londonderry.

Laurie Donofrio, 43, was pulled from her vehicle after it flipped over the guard rail and rolled down a 10-foot embankment into Beaver Brook.

The bystanders who helped rescue her from the vehicle were each given the Civilian Commendation for Lifesaving with Valor
