Millennium to Present Updated $600 Million Casino Plan this Week

The company that owns the option to buy Rockingham Park has added an entertainment venue and hotel to the new plan.

Millennium Gaming, the company that owns the option to buy Rockingham Park, will new plans for a casino at the site this week that include a hotel and 1,500-seat entertainment venue, according to the Eagle Tribune.

Millennium co-ceo Bill Wortman told the paper that the new plan is in excess of $600 million, increased from the $450 million that the old plan showed. He told the paper that a presentation will take place at the park in Salem on Wednesday.

The decision comes as the New Hampshire House is currently in deliberations on Senate Bill 152, which calls for up to 150 table games and no more than 5,000 video lottery/slot machines at one casino location in the state.

The venue size being proposed falls in line with an amendment being proposed that would limit the size of an entertainment venue at a gambling venue to 1,500 seats or less.

The amendment was officially presented during a House casino subcommittee on Thursday.
