Windham Finds Taker for Skate Park Equipment

Selectmen approve sale, now waiting on the other side to affirm the expense.

The Town of Salem will purchase three ramps and a rail from Windham for $750.

During Monday night's meeting, the Windham Board of Selectmen approved the sale of equipment from Griffin Park, according to the Lawrence Eagle-Tribune.

The issue has been a hot topic in Windham since town officials closed the park due to aggressive misconduct and liability concerns.

The purchase, according to the Eagle-Tribune, is contingent on Salem officials approving the expenditure from impact fees.

The sale comes on the heals of the third round of bid requests for the equipment. The first two rounds proved unsuccessful, and a plan to save the park fell through earlier this year.
