6 NJ Zip Codes Among Priciest In The U.S., New Analysis Shows
PropertyShark listed the 100 most expensive zip codes in the U.S. based on closed-sale data, including these zip codes in New Jersey:
Six of the country’s most expensive zip codes reside in New Jersey, according to the 10th edition of the annual PropertyShark report, which is based on closed-sale data.
This year, $2 million was the minimum median sales price to make the top 100. Five years ago, fewer than 50 of the most expensive zip codes had reached that mark.
Another sign of post-pandemic price acceleration was that 10 zip codes surpassed $5 million, according to Property Shark.

In New Jersey, the priciest zip codes, along with their nationwide ranking and median sale price, are:
- 07620 in Alpine (No. 13), at $4,350,000
- 07723 in Deal (No. 22), at $3,550,000
- 08247 in Stone Harbor (No. 57), at $2,550,000
- 07078 in Short Hills (No. 69), at $2,415,000
- 08202 in Avalon (No. 75), at $2,360,000
- 07711 in Allenhurst (No. 93), at $2,150,000
This is the 10th consecutive year that Alpine has ranked among the country’s top enclaves and remained New Jersey’s most expensive zip for the ninth time in a decade, according to PropertyShark.

Both Alpine and Deal set new records in 2025, with Alpine rising 31% year-over-year to $4.35 million and Deal reaching $3.55 million, up 20%.
Of New Jersey’s leading zip codes, PropertyShark said only two lie outside the New York Metro area – 08202 in Avalon and 08247 in Stone Harbor, both in Cape May County.
Overall, 15 states contributed to the list of the 100 most expensive zip codes across the U.S., with most defined by coastal or island locations.
The top 10 zip codes nationwide are:
- 33109 (Miami Beach, Florida)
- 94027 (Atherton, California)
- 11962 (Sagaponack, New York)
- 92661 (Newport Beach, California)
- 11976 (Water Mill, New York)
- 93108 (Santa Barbara, California)
- 94970 (Stinson Beach, California)
- 92657 (Newport Beach, California)
- 94022 (Los Altos, California) tied with 92662 (Newport Beach, California)
- 92067 (Rancho Santa Fe, California)
