1-Cent Tax Rate Increase In 2025 Barnegat Municipal Budget

This is the eighth year in a row that the municipal tax rate is only going up one cent, according to township officials.

BARNEGAT, NJ — A one-cent municipal tax rate increase is in store for 2025 in Barnegat, according to township officials.

That's the eighth year in a row that the tax rate increase is only one cent, township CFO Tom Lombarksi explained at a recent township committee meeting where he introduced the $35.7 million budget.

This means that the average homeowner, with a home assessed at $272,775, will pay an extra $30 on their annual tax bills. Property tax rates are based on your home's assessed value, not its market value.

"I'd just like to thank the committee and the administrator and all the department heads for their cooperation on allowing me to put this budget together with no problems and no hold backs of any type," Lombarksi said, noting this was his 10th budget that he was presenting in Barnegat.

The budget was then adopted by the committee.
